Tal M. Klein has been releasing music on his San Francisco based Aniligital Music label since 1997, using it as a platform to put out records under his moniker at that time, Trancenden. After a handful of albums (“Nicotine Fits & Analogue Beats” in 1998, “Peace Love Beats” in 2001, and “Alpha-Beats” in 2004), he became fed up of people assuming he was a trance DJ and reassumed his birth name. Away from his many side-projects ranging from country blues, 80’s synth pop and composing music for television & film use (MTV, “Long Board TV” and even porn!), Tal can often be spotted DJing in the same circles as Ursula 1000, Fort Knox Five, All Good Funk Alliance, Bonobo, Mr. Scruff and James Murphy.

“Plastic Starfish” is very much a return to form for Tal. While the name is essentially arbitrary the content is far from it, sporting sampledelic funk and disco right from the Aretha Franklin sampling offset through to the Lemon Jelly-esque finish.
