...space is the place, vocoder vocals with a sparse space-electro pulse that’s devastating in its cool simplicity. The ensuing is likewise deep and haunting. One of my favourite musical periods alive again Kris Needs on first Mandroid EP (4 in his chart — 18/10/97)
'We at Breakin’ are proud to present our first full length Album / CD, Electro Freaks Rehab clinic by Mandroid, alias Adrian D Ratajh, a producer and breakdancer from Barnsley, in Yorkshire.
There are nine tracks on the vinyl (which is still mastered loud enough for DJs) and three bonus tracks on the CD taken from Mandroids debut EP (previously only available on vinyl as BRK4) in a variety of Electro styles, from slow funky raps & deep 70’s vocoder grooves to hardcore breaking tracks.
Mandroid really loves the sound of the Vocoder and he also loves the 808, but he is not afraid to try out different beatboxes and styles, and he’s quite capable of writing funky-ass bass riffs and soaring synth lines…
Anyway, check it out, you wont be disappointed. As one German DJ told us 'this is a record people will look for in ten years time, a future collectors item !’
